ONE of Ireland's oldest priests still in active ministry reaches an extraordinary milestone today.
Monsignor John Moloney, of the Three Patrons Church in Rathgar, Dublin, celebrates his platinum jubilee in the priesthood.
Seventy years ago today – on July 13, 1941 while World War II raged – the monsignor was ordained a priest in Rome.
The 95-year-old from Limerick, who was a close friend of Pope John Paul II, is still a serving priest in his parish of Rathgar.
